GSGRA Bay Area Chapter Proudly Presents
Saturday, August 2nd El Rancho Grande The Bay Area Chapter of GSGRA would like to invite everyone to our Summer 2008 rodeo school on Saturday, August 2nd from 10-4. Our rodeo schools last year were a tremendous success and we're ready to do it all again--in plenty of time for you to get ready to compete at this year's Best Buck in the Bay. Deadline for Registration: July 28, 2008. This Rodeo School will focus on:
Bill Lyle, GSGRA's favorite stock contractor and a former professional bull rider, will head up the bull and steer riding lessons. Dan Bohan, a professional steer wrestling and bareback bronc riding champion, will be providing chute dogging and bronc lessons. For those who don't want to ride but want to learn about roughstock rigging, riding concepts and so forth, we will also have a "ground school." Bull Riding - Steer Riding Always wanted to ride a bull or steer? Interested in improving your skills and gaining competive advantage? This course will include lectures, practical training in rigging and, of-course, several goes on the animals. Participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves, spurs and ropes, though the ranch will have some used spurs and ropes on-hand for those who are not able to bring them. All levels are encouraged to attend. Bill will have animals of all levels on-hand. Chute Dogging Want to learn all you need to know about dogging a steer? No prior experience is necessary. In fact, previous students have gone on to win award ribbons from just one day of this course! The day will include lectures, practical training and of-course, several goes with the animals. Participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves. All levels are encouraged to attend. Ground School If you want to learn everything short of getting on the animals, you can select this option, which will allow you to attend all lectures, practice on riggings, learn chute protocol and so forth. You can also ride mechanical bulls. Not a GSGRA Member? You can still get the discount! GSGRA members receive a $15 discount off the selected class If you're not yet a GSGRA member, no worries. You can become a member today and still receive the discount on this and other Bay Area Chapter events throughout the year. Plus, by becoming a member you're eligible to compete in any IGRA series rodeo throughout the US and Canada. To reserve your place in this school or for more information, please email Mikel Edwards, vprodeo@bayarearodeo.com right away. Enrollment is limited.
