Latest Chapter News Friday, January 6, 2006 Happy New Year, all! It's only the first week of January and already it's looking like a busy month for the Bay Area Chapter. Read on to see all the exciting things coming up for the chapter. This is definitely a great kick off for 2006! New Email Blast Format You hopefully noticed right away that this is a completely new format for our Bay Area Chapter news blasts. With the growing adoption of email tools that can accurately display rich HTML content, it seemed due time to start taking advantage of this in our chapter communications. If you're not on an email client that reads HTML, you should still be getting all of this information in a reasonably formatted text form. If any of you have any feedback or concerns with this change, please email news@bayarearodeo.com Next Chapter Meeting - January 10th Our next chapter meeting will be held Tuesday, January 10th at Marlena's (488 Hayes Street) in San Francisco. The meeting begins at 7:30 pm. This is the first meeting with your new chapter board and is an important one for the chapter as we will be selecting our 2006 beneficiary. Hope you can make it. Sundance Saloon Chapter Night - January 8th This year we're renewing our committment to having a Chapter Night on the second Tuesday of every month at Sundance Saloon (550 Barnveld) in San Francisco. Join other chapter members for a great night of dancing. Lessons begin at 5:30 pm with open dancing until 10:30 pm. For more information, visit the Sundance Saloon website at http://www.sundancesaloon.org Volunteers Needed: Western Winter Ball - January 28th We have a unique challenge over the next few weeks--planning out the props and decorations to transform the Cathedral Hill's Grand Ballroom into a "western winter wonderland" for the Western Winter Ball we're hosting on January 28th. To pull it off, we need you. Please let us know right away if you can lend a hand in decoration design, ballroom setup on the morning of the 28th, or ballroom tear-down on the morning of the 29th. To volunteer, respond to this email or send an email to volunteer@bayarearodeo.com GSGRA State Convention Registration - Now Online! As you are probably aware by now, the Bay Area Chapter is hosting the GSGRA State Convention this year in San Francisco. The convention itself will be held Saturday, January 28th from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm in the Cathedral Hill Hotel (1101 Van Ness Ave., SF). I encourage all of you to make it if you can as it's a great learning opportunity. The cost of convention registration is $40 and includes a fully catered lunch as well as ensuring you free admission to the Western Winter Ball later that evening. You'll find the registration form at: http://www.bayarearodeo.com/Events/stateconvention.html So that we can provide the hotel with an accurate menu order for Saturday's luncheon and to better facilitate the preparation of convention materials, it's very important that you pre-register for convention. Please take a moment to process your registration online now. IGRA University The International Gay Rodeo Association is preparing one heck of a great weekend at this year's IGRA University. Forget everything you've known about University in the past. This is an entirely new format with some really exciting new content. The Bay Area Chapter would like to see as many chapter members as possible at University this year and we're prepared to make special scholorships available to make that happen (complete details will be discussed at next weeks chapter meeting). In the meantime, visit the IGRA University website and consider registring today. (http://igra.com/University)
That's the news for now. Stay tuned for more information next week. In the meantime, if you have any questions, comments, additions, or corrections please let us know. To view this BAC Blast online, visit http://www.bayarearodeo.com/News
