IMPORTANT Chapter Meeting
Tuesday June 9, 2009

As you all know, we are not producing the Best Buck in the Bay Rodeo this year. If we are going to produce a rodeo in 2010, we must submit our bid to the GSGRA State Board of Directors at the July 25th board meeting. In order to make a bid, we need people to be committed to helping with the various aspects of planning and producing the rodeo. At our next chapter meeting, we will be discussing our proposed bid, as well as gaguing the interest level and committment of our members. The meeting will be held at the home of Coco and Cindy Tomasulo on June 9th from 6:30pm-8:30pm. The address and a link to a Google Map is listed in the column to the right.

Western BBQ at Sundance Saloon
Sunday May 24, 2009

Fundraising at Golden Gate Fields
Sunday June 7, 2009

As previously reported, the BAC has been presented with an unbelievably wonderful opportunity to raise funds while staffing the Golden Gate Fields Dollar Days Booth.

For those of you not familiar with Golden Gate Fields, it is a horse racing track located in North Berkeley. Every Sunday, they host Dollar Days where guests get $1 general admission, $1 parking, $1 programs, $1 beers, $1 hot dogs, and $1 sodas.

In return for staffing the Dollar Days Booth, Golden Gate Fields donates funds back to the BAC. We still need volunteers for 6/07/09. If you're interested, please contact Skot Land.

Pride Season is here and we're looking for volunteers

June is Pride month in the Bay Area. The BAC will be celebrating in both the South Bay as well as San Francisco.

SAN JOSE PRIDE - Come out for two days of fun and pride at the San Jose Pride Festival. The GSGRA Bay Area Chapter will be there celebrating with all of our South Bay rodeo friends and family. Saturday, June 13th is "Family Day" with "free" admission to the festival grounds, entertainment activities for children, and performances by local entertainers throughout the day. On Sunday, June 14th, the day will start with the annual parade and continue with the festival where top entertainers will perform.

SAN FRANCISCO PRIDE - The GSGRA Bay Area Chapter will be marching in the San Francisco Pride Parade on Sunday, June 28th. The parade kicks off at 10:30 AM at Market St. & Beale and ends at Market & 8th St. in Downtown San Francisco. All are welcome to march with us in the parade.

The GSGRA Bay Area Chapter will also be staffing one of the Donation Collection Gates at the Pride Celebration on Saturday and Sunday, June 27th and 28th. If you are interested in volunteering, please e-mail our Volunteer Coordinator. They will contact you 7-10 days prior to the event to schedule specific shifts and get you all of the necessary information.
