The GSGRA Bay Area Chapter will once again be out at Golden Gate Fields in Berkeley on Sunday, December 13th from 10am-5pm to staff the Dollar Days booth. We have had a great year working out at Golden Gate Fields and have raised lots of money for the chapter. This will be our final 2009 "appearance" at Golden Gate Fields, and we'd love to see as many of you out there as possible, not only assisting with selling $1 hot dogs and $1 Bud Light, but also having a good time with fellow Rodeo folks. E-mail John Paul Soto, our Fundraising Chairperson, to let him know if are able to join us.
We are also working on securing more dates to work at Golden Gate Fields for 2010. Once we know the 2010 dates, we will post them on our website.
…………
Immediately following our fundraising event at Golden Gate Fields, the BAC will be holding the Annual Membership Meeting at Golden Gate Fields. This meeting will include the annual elections for officers. There is still time to nominate yourself or another BAC member for all of the available positions (president, vice president administration, vice president rodeo operations, secretary, and treasurer). E-mail your nominations to Cindy Tomasulo, our Nominations Chairperson, at nominations@BayAreaRodeo.com.
We will also be voting on some bylaws and standing rules changes, so be sure to attend so that your voice is heard and your vote counted.
…………
As previosly reported in the notification letter sent to all BAC members by BAC President Chieko Tomasulo, the BAC had planned a holiday dance at the Triple Crown bar in San Francisco for Saturday, December 5th. Unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts at the Triple Crown, we are not able to hold this event, nor were we able to find an alternate location at such a late notice.
While we are disappointed that we had to cancel this event, we are excited to announce that the BAC will resume holding their quarterly dances in 2010. In fact, the BAC will hold five to six dances in 2010, slightly more than one a quarter. This is in addition to the dances that will be held in conjunction with the 2010 Best Buck in the Bay Rodeo and Festival being held in August 2010. As we get the dates finalized, we will post the information on our website and communicate to you through the BAC Blast.
…………
There's a lot of planning and preprations that need to take place between now and next August, and we can sure use your help. Monthly Rodeo Productions Meetings are held just prior to our monthly Membership Meetings. You can participate by being at these meetings, and you can also participate by volunteering for one of the various planning committee positions. If you're interested, please e-mail our Rodeo Director, Just John, at RodeoDirector@BestBuckInTheBay.com.
